Long-Length Aluminum Tube Customization

A customer required aluminum tubes with a size of 400 × 416 mm. In the general market, most aluminum tubes in this size are supplied in lengths of less than 1 m. After purchasing short-length material, the customer had to perform cutting and other secondary processing, followed by anodizing. This increased the average cost of each finished part by approximately 30% and doubled the production cycle.

Compass Power Tech provided a 2.8 m long-length aluminum tube solution, with length also customizable according to customer requirements. The customer could process the long aluminum tube directly, reducing material waste and making production more efficient. This solution helped lower processing costs, improve material utilization, and shorten delivery time.

Valve Stem Material Solution

For valve stem applications, Compass Power Tech provides multiple material options according to the customer’s operating environment. One customer was concerned about corrosion caused by long-term contact between the valve stem and water.

To solve this issue, we recommended a friction welding solution that combines two different materials in one component. The section in long-term contact with water was replaced with a more corrosion-resistant material, while the other section used a more cost-effective standard material. After sample testing, the customer was satisfied with the result.

This solution improved corrosion resistance in the critical working area while helping reduce overall material cost.

Piston Rod Material Replacement Solution

A customer required a high-strength piston rod. If standard materials such as C45 or 4140 were used, a larger rod diameter would have been needed to meet the strength requirement, which would significantly increase production cost.

After evaluating the application, Compass Power Tech recommended 17-4PH (630) stainless steel as an alternative material. 17-4PH (630) offers excellent strength and corrosion resistance, helping improve product performance while reducing the amount of material required.

This material replacement solution helped the customer meet the high-strength requirement, improve product quality, reduce material usage, and control production cost.
