Piston Rods

Stainless Steel Ground Shafting

Different hydraulic, pneumatic, and motion control systems require different piston rod materials, surface treatments, and mechanical properties. Compass Power Tech provides piston rods in multiple specifications and processing types, helping customers select the right solution according to operating environment, load conditions, movement frequency, wear resistance, and performance requirements.

Our piston rod options include standard chrome plated piston rods, quenched and tempered piston rods, induction hardened piston rods, and quenched and tempered induction hardened piston rods. Each type offers different advantages in terms of material strength, surface hardness, wear resistance, dimensional stability, and service life.

By matching material selection with suitable processing methods, Compass Power Tech helps customers obtain piston rods that are easier to integrate into hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic cylinders, guide systems, presses, injection molding machines, and other industrial equipment.

Compass Power Tech produces stainless steel precision ground shafting using five main stainless steel categories:

Product Series Include:
Chrome Plated Piston Rod

Chrome Plated Piston Rod

A cost-effective piston rod solution is often preferred for light-duty hydraulic, pneumatic, and motion control systems. Chrome plated piston rods are commonly made from carbon steel such as 45 steel, offering a practical balance between material cost, surface protection, and basic mechanical performance.

Quenched And Tempered Piston Rod

Quenched And Tempered Piston Rod

Medium-load hydraulic and pneumatic systems often need piston rods with stronger core performance than standard carbon steel rods can provide. Quenched and tempered piston rods are usually made from alloy steel such as 42CrMo, offering better hardenability, strength, toughness, and overall mechanical performance.

Induction Hardened Piston Rod

Induction Hardened Piston Rod

Applications involving higher speed, heavier loads, or repeated sliding movement require piston rods with stronger surface hardness and wear resistance. Induction hardened piston rods are usually made from carbon steel or alloy steel, such as 45 steel, giving customers flexible material options according to strength, hardness, and cost requirements.

Induction Hardened Chrome Plated Rod

Induction Hardened Chrome Plated Rod

High-performance hydraulic, pneumatic, and motion control systems require piston rods that can handle heavy loads, repeated movement, surface wear, and strict reliability demands. Induction hardened chrome plated rods are usually made from alloy steel such as 42CrMo, offering excellent hardenability, strong mechanical performance, and improved surface durability.

Additional Custom Services
  • Custom length: Piston rod length can be customized according to customer requirements, with a maximum length of 300 cm.
  • End chamfering: Both ends of the rod can be chamfered to support easier machining and assembly.
  • Drawing-based machining: Piston rods can be machined according to customer drawings and supplied as ready-to-assemble components, reducing the customer’s downstream processing work.
Packaging and Storage

To protect piston rods during sea freight and storage, Compass Power Tech uses anti-rust paper tube packaging. Before wrapping, anti-rust oil is applied evenly to the rod surface, and anti-rust wax is applied inside the paper tube. This protective process helps reduce corrosion risk during transportation and ensures customers receive high-quality piston rods in stable, ready-to-use condition.
